How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Gap Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client for three Planners to join their busy team Kegworth. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, within an established organisation. This role starts as temproary to permanent however for the right candidates can be permanent.

    Job Title: Planner
    Location: Kegworth
    Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm with a 1 hour lunch
    Pay: £28,000 - £33,500 per annum

    Duties and responsibilities as a Planner/Operator:

    Pre brief overseas depots of planned loading manifests in accordance with clients procedures
    Liaise with all departments on planning changes where necessary using company systems to create visibility.  
    Record collection/delivery status and discrepancies in dotnet system and escalate where appropriate.
    Move freight outside of standard parameters when needed by working with the trucking team.
    Recovering increased costs and lost revenue through correct administration.
    Administrate all transport runs to the correct standard, eliminating disruption and additional workflows for other teams.  
    Balance costs for most effective ways to deliver a service factoring set costs, overtime, additional equipment and subcontracting.
    Using planning systems as well and manual planning for various workflows.  
    Skills and requirements as a Planner/Operator:

    Experience of working in a transport/freight forwarding environment
    Experience of groupage/planning freight
    Agile – Can think on their feet.
    A good level of IT literacy.
