How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Plant Operative
    £30,000 Per annum
    Full time
    Permanent
     
    Hales Group are partnering with their client to recruit a Plant Operative to join their growing team. In this position, you will be involved in storage, blending, and tanker loading activities. Previous experience in despatch, forklift driving and weighbridge operations will be highly beneficial for this role.
     
    Hours - Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5.00pm
     
    Duties Include:

    Safely loading and discharging road tankers, ensuring all product transfers are completed accurately and in accordance with site procedures.
    Operating the site weighbridge to record vehicle weights, verify documentation, and ensure all load movements are correctly captured.
    Issuing accurate dispatch documentation to support efficient and compliant outbound deliveries.
    Accurately recording and monitoring stock levels, maintaining up‑to‑date inventory information and ensuring all product movements are fully reconciled.
    Assisting with quayside shipping operations, including the safe and efficient loading and unloading of vessels.
    Solubilising and blending liquid fertiliser to required specifications.
    Operating FLT and JCB machinery safely to transport materials and support day‑to‑day site operations.
    Carrying out routine site maintenance tasks to help maintain overall site efficiency.
    Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping to ensure work areas remain clean, organised, and free from hazards.
    Reporting all incidents, accidents, and near misses promptly using the near‑miss reporting system.
    Reporting any equipment breakdowns or deficiencies to the site supervisor or manager to minimise downtime and maintain safety.
    Following all health and safety policies and procedures at all times, taking proactive steps to protect both your own safety and the safety of others on site.
    Performing any other duties to support the smooth and efficient running of the site.  
    Skills and Experience Required:

    Valid forklift truck licence
    Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
    Good communication skills
    Self-motivated team player
    Basic computer skills
    High commitment to health and safety
    Flexible with working hours (additional hours and weekend working may be required)
    Full UK driving licence (travel to other sites may be required).
