How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced Maths teacher looking to make an impact ? Look no further, Academics are on the lookout for a talented Maths teacher for one of our highly regarded secondary schools based in North Leeds. The position is to start in April 2026 and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential of obtaining a direct contract from September 2026.

    The school have been rated "good" in their most recent Ofsted report and have been praised for having knowledgeable teachers who use a range of methods to deliver the curriculum. Staff also feel that leaders support them well and they have a manageable work load.

    About the Maths Teacher role:

    Your role as a Maths teacher will involve displaying high levels of knowledge and assisting with the development of students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 where you will be working alongside other professionals in the Maths department and sharing ideas to help further develop the curriculum.

    Requirements:

    High levels of organisation, especially when it comes to planning lessons and activities
    Have a wide range of experience as a Maths teacher, with the ability to teach Maths up to Key Stage 4 level.
    Must have qualified teacher status (QTS)
    A degree in Mathematics
    Right to work in the UK
