How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
    Location: Oldham
    Salary: £40,000
    Shifts: Monday–Friday (Days Only) Early Finish on Friday’s

    Overview

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a forward-thinking and high-performing manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is committed to maintaining operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
    Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and effectively.
    Perform reactive maintenance and implement continuous improvement solutions to enhance machinery performance.
    Support installation, commissioning, and modification of production equipment.
    Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all documentation is up to date.
    Adhere to all health, safety, and operational standards, always promoting a safe working environment.
    Skills & Experience

    Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
    Strong electrical fault-finding capability, with solid mechanical knowledge.
    Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
    Competent in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment.
    A methodical and proactive approach to problem-solving.
    Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
    Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
