How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Rochdale

    Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
    Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
    Start Date: After Easter 2026
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
    Contract: Full time, term time only
    Pay: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

    We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil at a welcoming primary school in Rochdale.

    This role involves supporting a child with autism and additional complex needs (not severe). The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pupil's learning, emotional development, and daily care needs within the classroom environment.

    This is a rewarding opportunity for someone patient, nurturing, and committed to making a positive difference in a child's school experience.

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Key responsibilities:
    * Providing dedicated 1:1 classroom support
    * Supporting learning activities as directed by the class teacher
    * Assisting with social interaction and emotional regulation
    * Supporting transitions and structured routines
    * Providing personal care support when required
    * Implementing strategies set by the SENCO
    * Monitoring and reporting progress
    * Supporting positive behaviour approaches
    * Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Essential requirements:
    * Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
    * Previous experience working in UK primary schools (essential)
    * Experience supporting children with autism or SEN
    * Willingness to support with personal care
    * Patient, calm and understanding approach
    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
    * Right to work in the UK

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Desirable:
    * Experience working 1:1
    * Autism support experience
    * Team Teach or behaviour training
    * Knowledge of SEN strategies
