How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you passionate about ensuring young are given the best opportunities to grow academically and personally? Do you want to be part of a team that empowers children to overcome challenges and reach their full potential? If so, we want YOU to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant with our client specialist school in Shrewsbury.

This school is a place where each student is unique, and they pride themselves on providing an environment where all pupils-whether they have moderate, severe, complex, or profound learning difficulties, autism or physical and mobility needs-are treated with the respect, care, and understanding they deserve.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable individual to help bring out the best in our students and support them on their learning journey. Whether it's one-on-one support, engaging classroom activities, or offering a helping hand when needed, your impact will be both immediate and long-lasting.

    What You'll Be Doing:
    - Making a difference: Support students with a range of learning and physical challenges, helping them feel confident, capable, and valued.
    - Tailored support: No two students are the same, and your adaptable approach will make sure that each one gets the help they need to thrive.
    - Building relationships: Connect with pupils, gaining their trust and motivating them to learn and develop at their own pace.
    - Promoting positive behavior: Use your understanding and patience to help manage behaviour and foster a nurturing environment where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to engage.
    - Personal growth: Enjoy opportunities to develop your skills with ongoing training and professional development.

    What We're Looking For:
    - A kind, patient, and adaptable individual who genuinely cares about making a difference in the lives of young people.
    - Previous experience in a similar role is a bonus, but a passion for working with children with special educational needs is essential.
    - Someone who's not afraid to think on their feet and adjust their approach to meet the individual needs of each student.
    - Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate children in a way - A team player who thrives in a supportive environment, collaborating to achieve the best outcomes for students.
    - Relevant qualifications (such as in education, childcare, or SEN) are desirable but not essential. We're more interested in your attitude and commitment!

This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to change lives and become part of something truly special. If you're ready to be part of a school where every day is filled with purpose and opportunity, then we'd love to hear from you!
