How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Their ethos focuses on the holistic development of all pupils, ensuring that each child feels secure, valued, and ready to learn.

We are seeking a compassionate Special Educational Needs Practitioner to join our clients team. You will work directly with pupils, providing tailored support for individuals with specific needs, and help them thrive in our welcoming mainstream setting.

    Role & Responsibilities:
As a SEN Practitioner, you will work closely with our SENCO and class teachers to support the development and well-being of pupils with special educational needs. Your key responsibilities will include:
    - Providing Therapeutic Support: Work with pupils on therapy or care programs to support their emotional and physical development.
    - Individualised and Small Group Work: Deliver specific learning interventions for individual pupils or small groups, ensuring that each child receives the support they need to succeed.
    - Collaborative Working: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that the learning and care plans for pupils are effectively implemented.
    - Supporting Inclusion: Ensure that pupils with additional needs are fully included in classroom activities and school life, helping them to feel engaged and confident.
    - Monitoring Progress: Regularly track and assess the progress of the pupils you work with, reporting back to the SENCO and teachers to ensure their needs are being met.

    Essential Criteria:
    - Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school setting (ideally primary).
    - Knowledge of therapy or care programs and experience delivering tailored support.
    - A compassionate and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children.
    - Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
    - A patient, calm, and flexible attitude towards supporting children with diverse needs.
    - A commitment to the ethos of inclusion, ensuring all pupils are given the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

    Desirable Criteria:
    - Relevant qualification in SEN, childcare, or a related field (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE).
    - Experience working with children with specific therapy or care needs.
    - First Aid training or a willingness to undertake training.

Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business. Aspire People is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects every candidate to share this commitment.
