How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the role…

    As a growing business we are looking for a professional Quantity Surveyor to join our fantastic Commercial team. You will support with the development, implementation and management of all commercial activities and controls, taking ownership for the implementation of the group commercial strategy for the business unit you are assigned to. Ultimately, helping to maximise the profitability of the business unit whilst ensuring the Ipsum values are upheld. This is a full-time permanent role based from our Wakefield office.

    As a Quantity Surveyor you will…

    Manage contract/project performance including CVR reviews.

    Review contracts and support with mitigating risk.

    Report on and challenge performance for project cashflows and profitability.

    Subcontractor management.

    Preparation and review of subcontract documents and assessment of quotations for onboarding.

    Manage and track project changes, variations and/or notices.

    Assess and value variations and compensation events.

    Support the Commercial Manager with ad hoc projects and continuous improvement of business processes.

    Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications to clients, along with the agreement of final accounts.

    Attend risk review, progress and commercial meetings on-site with the Client.

    Be actively involved with tenders and pricing.

    Support the operational team in daily commercial and contractual aspects.

    About you…

    ?

    We are looking for someone who is confident and has a good understanding of MTC contracts and the Property Services Agency schedule of rates preferably within an MOD environment (whilst not essential). This would suit someone who is self-motivated and has a background in a commercial or finance role. You must take pride in your work and recognise improvement opportunities.
