How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading consultancy operating across a wide range of sectors including residential, education, sports, mixed-use, office, data centres, hospitality, and public projects is seeking an ambitious Assistant Building Surveyor. The building surveyor will be based in London and will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects.

    The Company?
    The successful building surveyor will join a growing consultancy that continues to expand its market presence. The Assistant Building Surveyor will be involved in a variety of projects across different sectors, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to complex assignments.

    The Role
    As the building surveyor you will work alongside senior team members and contribute throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

    Conducting building surveys and preparing detailed reports

    Advising clients on property conditions and recommended actions

    Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and budget

    Managing project documentation, programmes, and budgets

    Supporting contract administration and project reporting

    The Assistant Building Surveyor?
    You will be an organised and committed individual with a background in building surveying. Applications from candidates without construction-related experience will not be considered.

    The Assistant Building Surveyor must have:

    A degree in Building Surveying or a relevant property discipline

    Proven experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects

    Ability to engage with clients and manage relationships effectively

    Experience working within multidisciplinary teams

    Awareness of current industry standards, regulations, and construction practices
