Our Glasgow fostering team supports foster families and children across Glasgow, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire, Dunbartonshire, Inverclyde, Argyll and Bute.Role RequirementsSupport foster carers and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for all children and young people in foster careSupport and monitor the continued suitability and competence of foster carers, ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children and young peopleEnsure that carers fully understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved and the standards expected, including complaints and representation procedures as detailed in Fosterplus policies and proceduresProvide and record regular supervision to allocated foster carers in line with Fosterplus' Operational StandardsWork in partnership in a team parenting approach to help identify any needs within foster families, e.g. respite, activities, therapy and holidays, contributing to relevant meetings and associated tasksEnsure each child and foster carer is fully compliant in respect of all key documentationAttend meetings and/or provide reports for commissioning teams to address individual packages of carePromote participation of children and young people in the development of the agency and in accessing resources and opportunities in their local communityParticipate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rota basisUndertake occasional initial home visits and Form F AssessmentsYou Must HaveA Social Work qualificationProfessional registration with SSSC or equivalentProven ability to produce a high standard of report writingA comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding proceduresThe willingness and ability to travel extensivelyConfidence in transporting children and young people in sometimes challenging situationsFull driving licence and unrestricted access to your own vehicleAbout YouYou will remain calm under pressure, particularly in emotionally challenging situationsYou will demonstrate strong professional curiosityYou will have the ability to engage others and work collaboratively with creativityYou will be able to make timely and effective decisions and lead by exampleYou will understand when to consult with or defer to othersCurious to find out more?
