Data Lead

Copello are supporting a leading defence-focused programme in the search for a Data Lead to join a high-impact team delivering next-generation training capabilities. This is an opportunity to shape and lead data architecture and engineering across a complex, cloud-based environment supporting critical national programmes.

This role is based in Warminster with hybrid working available.

What you’ll do:

Lead the design and delivery of scalable data platforms, pipelines and architecture.

*

Provide technical oversight across data engineering activities, ensuring best practice and governance.

*

Collaborate with engineering, simulation and stakeholder teams to align data solutions to business needs.

*

Ensure data security, compliance and lifecycle management across cloud environments.

*

Drive improvements in data systems, standards and performance.

*

Act as a subject matter expert for data architecture, including lakehouse and analytics solutions.

*

Support the development of dashboards and insights to maximise business value from data.

What you’ll bring:

*

Strong experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure or similar).

*

Proven expertise in building data pipelines, warehousing and large-scale data solutions.

*

Experience with SQL, distributed processing frameworks (e.g. Spark) and data orchestration tools.

*

Knowledge of data governance, security and API-driven integration.

*

Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to operate in complex environments.

*

Experience within defence, government or secure environments beneficial.
