Job Purpose
Belcan are currently working with one of the leading clients in the aerospace industry, who manufactures, operates, and delivers services with its solar-powered, stratospheric platform. We are supporting them with their search for an Electrical Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of electrical products across multiple programmes.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will help generate and maintain the digital design record, collaborating closely with both internal teams and external manufacturing and installation partners.
This is a dynamic role in a growing organisation, offering exposure to evolving programmes and complex, rewarding design challenges.
Key Responsibilities
*Support Avionics and Systems Engineering teams in developing and maintaining the production design record for new concepts and design changes.
*Produce detailed electrical design solutions using SolidWorks Electrical.
*Select appropriate electrical components to satisfy schematic and system level requirements.
*Act as a key contact for electrical design queries across engineering and production.
*Provide hands on support to the build line in resolving emerging electrical issues.
*Support and participate in design maturity gate reviews in accordance with the business' design processes.
*Help manage design changes in line with configuration and change control processes.
*Collaborate with Production and Procurement teams to ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) considerations are addressed early in the lifecycle.
Requirements:
*Previous experience in aviation focused electrical design
*ONC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
*Must have experience and a good proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical
*Experience working with PDM systems would be an advantage
*Experience in resolving emergent electrical issues and developing innovative solutions
*Demonstrable experience in translating system level requirements into complete design solutions
