How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Flagship Shopping Centre
    Location: North West London
    Hours: Mon - Fri. 8AM - 5PM
    Salary: £40k + Overtime + Excellent Benefits

    An established Facilities Management provider is offering a standout opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the on-site team at a major shopping centre in North West London. This is not a static, back-of-house role. It’s a high-visibility position on a busy, modern retail destination where engineering standards directly shape the experience of thousands of visitors every day. The successful candidate will be part of a professional, well-supported team responsible for keeping the centre running at its best.     Deliver both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across mechanical systems
    Maintain and repair HVAC plant, pumps, motors, pipework, valves, and water systems
    Respond quickly to faults, ensuring minimal disruption to retailers and the public
    Monitor plant performance and take a proactive approach to maintenance
    Work closely with subcontractors and site teams to keep standards high
    Ensure full compliance with health & safety and statutory requirements

    Essential:

    Mechanical qualification (NVQ / C&G Level 2 or equivalent)
    Experience working within commercial, retail, or large public buildings
    Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems
    Solid fault-finding and problem-solving skillsDesirable:

    Previous experience in a similar high-footfall site
    Mechanical qualification (NVQ / C&G Level 3 or equivalent)
