How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently recruiting for a leading and prestigious company based in Bury St Edmunds who work with the livestock farm industry, due to their continued growth and development they are seeking to employ a Process Operator to start asap.

    Permanent role

    Very competitive salary offered.

    Hours – 42 hours per week (on a 12hr continental shift pattern covering 7 days a week).

    The production operative reports directly to the shift Supervisor and provides support on a day-to-day basis by ensuring management systems are complied with particularly in the key areas of Health, Safety, Quality and Environment.

    Purpose of the role and responsibilities.

    To contribute to the manufacturing output by running the blend and press plants.

    To monitor and maintain quality standards at optimum output.

    To ensure that safe working practices are implemented.

    To utilise plant to achieve efficient use of resources.

    To attend to the data transfer required for OEE, SAP and other production records.

    To keep the mill clean and tidy and adopt good 5S working practices.

    Be proactive in raising concerns.

    Working as part of the Mill Shift Production team, working across all production disciplines.

    To undertake maintenance tasks within specified level of competence.

    Ensure all activities are within Health and Safety Regulations and Environmental Procedures.

    Role Requirements

    Previous experience in the industry or similar production/manufacturing environment

    Team Player, Can do attitude, Self-Motivated

    Good communicator, ability to communicate at different levels

    Some knowledge of plant processes

    Good problem solving skills

    Experience in fast moving automated production environment - 5 years

    Must be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of company management systems.

    Must hold a valid driving licence.

    Good level of literacy and numeracy is required Ability to interpret quality and production data

    Useful • RTITB FLT • Experience operating presses or extruders producing pig, poultry specialist diets and pet food components
