How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Prepare Bills of Quantities and procurement packages
    Manage subcontractors—financially and contractually
Conduct site visits, attend progress meetings and ensure commercial compliance
Support the delivery of accurate financial reporting and project profitability
Handle final accounts and protect the company’s commercial interests
    About You
We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor with the drive to succeed and the confidence to lead.
    Ideally you will have:

Experience working with a main contractor
Strong background in design & build projects
    Demonstrable experience managing multimillion-pound schemes
HNC, degree, or equivalent qualification in construction / Quantity Surveying
    Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (and ideally Project)
A full, valid UK driving licence
Experience resolving disputes and completing final accounts
    What’s in It for You

Join a business that invests in your growth and rewards your achievements
    Competitive salary and package
    Generous holiday entitlement
Mentoring programmes and continuous professional development
    Contributory pension scheme
    Annual bonus scheme
    Recognition and long-service awards
    Car scheme
    Healthcare benefits
If you're an ambitious Quantity Surveyor ready to elevate your career with a leading national contractor, we’d love to hear from you. Contact Nicky Harris, RGB Recruitment, Exeter
