How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Digital News Homepage Producer/Editor
    London City Hybrid working (1-2 days pw onsite)
    Typical Shift is 6am - 2pm - Tue-Saturday or Sun Thursday
    Immediate Start - 2 weeks notice Max
    7 months (maternity cover)
    Rate max £193pd (£262pd umbrella pay)

    Digital News Homepage Producer/Editor for a well known international News outlet. Role will be responsible for editing the News Headlines/Content for the digital products including the main websites and the app. We are looking for someone with approx. 2 years Digital News experience editing homepage headlines, content layout etc for another major digital news outlet - ideally with international news experience, especially US. You will need good experience using Chartbeat newsroom tools. You will need to demonstrate top-notch editorial and news judgement to support clear, engaging curation and framing of news at pace and accuracy.

    The role of Digital Editor, Programming will report to the Senior Editor, Programming, curating core surfaces, sending alerts to app audience and using creativity in content packaging, with editorial judgment being first and foremost. This role requires exceptional news judgment, urgency and creativity in content presentation. You'll drive audience engagement, making decisions that affect how millions experience news.

    Qualifications & Experience…

    * Approx 2+ years demonstrable experience in digital news English language Homepage editing
    * Digital News Homepage Producer/Editor experience for another major digital news outlet - ideally with international news experience, especially US
    * Excellent writing and editing skills, able to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high standards
    * Strong collaborative mindset and communication skills with excellent English written and verbal communications
    * Experience with Chartbeat (this is essential) analytics and content optimization
    * Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
    * Willingness to work nights and/or weekends - Typical Shift is 6am - 2pm - Tue-Saturday and/or Sun Thursday
    * Understanding of digital content across multiple formats
    * Ability to make fast-paced editorial decisions
    * Experience content management and digital publishing tools - some video editing would be a plus

    Your Role Accountabilities…

    * Master core platforms, demonstrating stellar news judgment
    * Initiate creative feed organisation using the content library
    * Deploy top-notch editorial and news judgement to support clear, engaging curation and framing of journalism
    * Recognise programming and audience needs proactively and collaborate with senior team members
    * Guide associate editors and occasionally serve as a shift lead
    * Interact with stakeholders to share and receive feedback on initiatives and day-to-day programming
    * Participate in post-mortems and strategic conversations to enhance programming
    * Execute distribution strategies while monitoring audience data and optimising content
    * Apply deep knowledge of digital content forms (video, articles, photo galleries, etc.) to program for user needs, identify trends, and communicate insights to senior leadership
    * Contribute to content strategies based on audience behaviour and platform performance
    * Edit breaking news and collaborate with writers in shaping alerts and articles
