How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Title: Site Engineer - Civil Engineering (UK-Wide Projects) Location: UK & Ireland (Travel Required) Salary: Competitive + Full Benefits Package + Career Development

    The Opportunity Are you a Site Engineer who takes pride in high-quality delivery? Search Consultancy is partnering with an industry-leading Civil Engineering contractor to find a dedicated Site Engineer for high-value projects across the UK and Ireland.

    This is a role for an engineer who wants to be more than just a "setter-out." You will be given real responsibility, a collaborative team environment, and a clear pathway to Site Agent or Project Management roles.

    Your New Role You will take full accountability for the technical delivery of civil engineering works, ensuring everything is built to spec, on time, and safely.

    Key Responsibilities:
    * Technical Accuracy: Precise setting out and levelling using GPS and Total Station equipment.
    * Quality Control: Maintain the NCR register and ensure all drawings and contract documents are up to date.
    * Safety Leadership: Manage site inductions and ensure RAMS are strictly followed in line with SHEQ policies.
    * Project Planning: Collaborate with the Site Agent on short-term "look ahead" programmes and communicate risks to the management team.
    * Reporting: Produce weekly/monthly progress reports and maintain accurate daily records for labour, plant, and materials.

    What We're Looking For
    * Education: HND in Civil Engineering (BSc Hons is a plus).
    * Tech Skills: Proven experience with modern surveying equipment (GPS/Total Station).
    * Compliance: Deep understanding of SHEQ procedures and civil engineering best practices.
    * Flexibility: A full driving licence and a willingness to travel to project sites throughout the UK.
