How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Children’s Support Worker
    Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
    Salary: £15.00 per hour
    Oria Care provides specialist, nurse-led support for individuals with complex health and care needs. We work closely with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver structured, outcome-focused care in community and home settings.
    Our approach focuses on consistency, quality, and long-term outcomes, ensuring each care package is delivered with professionalism and attention to detail.
    The Role
    We are seeking an experienced Children’s Support Worker to support a child with SEND and an acquired brain injury within a family home and community setting in Stockport, Manchester.
    This is a structured daytime role combining therapeutic-style support with practical domestic assistance, helping to maintain a calm, organised, and predictable environment.
    This role involves working closely within the family home, supporting daily routines, emotional regulation, and structured activities, while reinforcing guidance from Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), and psychology teams.
    Key responsibilities include:
    * Supporting daily routines and emotional regulation
    * Facilitating structured activities and community access
    * Reinforcing therapy guidance in day-to-day settings (non-clinical delivery)
    * Supporting household organisation and routine
    * Light domestic duties including tidying and meal preparation
    Shift pattern:
    * Monday to Sunday
    * 9:00am – 5:00pm (8-hour shifts)
    * Rota agreed in advance
    Important:
    * This is not a babysitting role
    * This is not a purely clinical role
    * This is not crisis or restraint-based support
    This is a long-term position suited to someone who values consistency, structure, and meaningful progress.
    Skills and Qualifications
    * Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
    * Understanding of acquired brain injury or neurodiversity
    * Background as a Support Worker, SEN Teaching Assistant, Therapy Assistant, or similar
    * Ability to work independently within a family home
    Essential Requirements
    * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
    * Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
    * Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
    To Apply
    If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for Oria Care, please do not hesitate to apply.
    Additional Note (Legal Requirement)
    Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This role is therefore open to female applicants only
