    Job description

    The successful candidate will work in the Risk Assessment team as a Transport Assessor, assessing the transport requirements of children with special educational needs and disabilities.

    The focus will be to support the team to complete individual risk assessments to determine suitable transport requirements for home to school transport and to review existing risk assessments, taking into account any identified change in needs.

    They may also be required to support with other administrative tasks across the Passenger Transport Services team.

    Particular qualities we are looking for include:

    * Experience of gathering and interpreting information from different sources to produce written reports and correspondence

    * Attention to detail

    * Experience and confidence in using a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database packages

    * The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to problem solve and achieve suitable outcomes for children with SEND, whilst also working to tight deadlines

    * Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise empathetically and calmly with members of the public including parents and carers

    * Experience of delivering a service to individuals or groups, or working with individuals accessing support

    * Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs and disabilities

    The post is until September 30th 2026 from the start date and will be paid at £14.82 per hour for a 37 hour week.

    The successful candidate will be expected to attend County Hall each day in the first instance to complete their induction and training. Once this is completed, they will have the option to work flexibly (from home), with an expectation that they regularly attend County Hall as required for team days and meetings, or they can be office based at County Hall for part of, or the full duration of their working week
