Staffline is recruiting Pre-hung Operatives to work in Ely.
This is a temp-to-perm position, with the opportunity to move to a permanent contract after 12 weeks.
Due to the location of the site in Ely, candidates must have access to their own vehicle or reliable transport to travel to and from the workplace.
The rate of pay is £13.40 per hour
This is a full time role, working Monday to Friday.
Candidates must be flexible and able to work either of the following shifts when required:
The hours of work are:
- 7:30am - 16:00pm or 5:00am - 13:30pm.
Your Time at Work
As a Pre-hung Operative, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with general workshop production, including unwrapping and re-packaging doors and door sets
- Sorting deliveries into the appropriate bins and checking labels to ensure items are correctly sorted
- Checking for damaged or missing items
- Conducting regular stock checks to ensure system records match actual stock
- Moving stock around by hand, and using lifting gear or a counterbalance forklift truck where required
- Operating a range of woodworking machines safely
- General warehouse duties, including cleaning work areas and maintaining Health & Safety standards
- This role involves regular heavy lifting and manual handling
Our Perfect Worker
Our perfect Pre-hung Operative will ideally have experience working in a warehouse or production environment and be comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
Experience operating a counterbalance forklift is also required.
You will be self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a team-focused approach. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, listening, and communication skills are essential. You should be calm and level-headed, able to work well under pressure, and committed to maintaining high standards in a busy workshop environment.
