Search Consultancy is looking for a skilled Dry Liner to join our busy interior fit-out and construction teams across Durham. We are partnering with leading partitioning contractors and residential developers who require high-quality boarding and metal stud work for major commercial and domestic projects.
If you are a Dry Liner who takes pride in speed and precision, whether you are fixing boards to timber or installing complex metal track systems, we have immediate starts and long-term runs of work available now.

The Role
* Metal Stud Work: Building internal walls and room divisions using metal track and studding systems (e.g., Gypframe, British Gypsum).
* Fixing & Installation: Measuring, cutting, and fixing plasterboard to ceilings and internal walls using "dot and dab" or screw-fixing methods.
* Insulation: Installing thermal and acoustic insulation within partitions and ceiling voids as per the site specification.
* Technical Accuracy: Working from architectural drawings to ensure all partitions are perfectly plumb, square, and aligned.
* Commercial & Domestic: Delivering high-volume boarding on housing sites or detailed fit-outs in commercial office spaces and retail units.
* Finishing Prep: Ensuring all boards are fitted tightly with minimal gaps, ready for the taping and jointing or skimming teams to follow.
Requirements
* CSCS Card: A valid Blue or Gold card is mandatory.
* Experience: Proven track record in professional dry lining and metal stud partitioning.
* Technical Skills: Ability to read drawings and work efficiently with both timber and metal sub-structures.
* Efficiency: Must be used to working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean and accurate finish.
* Tools & PPE: Full professional dry lining kit (including cordless screw guns, levels, and board lifts if required) and standard 5-point PPE.
* Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
