How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Office Administrator (Temporary Maternity Cover)

    Are you a dynamic and organised individual ready to take the lead in our Newcastle office? Our client is seeking a Senior Office Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy ensuring everything runs smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

    Position Details:

    Location: Newcastle City Centre
    Contract Type: Temporary
    Working Pattern: Full Time - 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
    Hourly Rate: £13.70ph (paid weekly through OA)
    Note: Parking is not provided due to the city centre location.
    End Date: Until October 2026 (TBC)

    What You'll Be Doing:
    As the Senior Office Administrator, you will be the backbone of our clients Newcastle office, responsible for a variety of essential functions, including:

    First Impressions Matter: Act as the first point of contact for visitors and clients-greet them warmly and manage reception duties with professionalism.
    Smooth Operations: Ensure the office runs effectively by managing room bookings, seating plans, and hot desking arrangements.
    Office Supplies Management: Order and maintain office supplies while ensuring cost-effective purchasing.
    Facility Oversight: Oversee office cleanliness and maintenance, working closely with cleaning and maintenance teams.
    Health & Safety Champion: Review and update health and safety records, ensuring compliance with HSE standards.
    Collaboration is Key: Serve as a vital link between departments, coordinating with HR, Marketing, and others to facilitate smooth communication.
    Welcoming New Team Members: Coordinate onboarding processes for new starters, including inductions and right-to-work checks.
    Travel Coordination: Book travel arrangements and reconcile office expenses accurately.
    Project Assistance: Help with document preparation, binding, and printing as needed.
