How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality Engineer 

    Owen Daniels are supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business in recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with a strong production or manufacturing engineering background, looking to play a key role in driving quality improvements across the business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Manage and lead Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring timely containment, investigation, and closure
    Conduct structured root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys (5Y) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
    Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes
    Monitor quality performance, analyse trends, and drive continuous improvement activities
    Support internal and external audits where required
    Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure quality standards are consistently metCandidate Requirements:

    Proven experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing or production environment
    Strong working knowledge of NCR management, 8D, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis tools
    Background in manufacturing or production engineering would be highly advantageous
    Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical and analytical approach
    Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
