    Compliance Manager – Defence & Aerospace Manufacturing

    📍 Wolverhampton | 💰 £40,000

    Are you an experienced Compliance professional looking to take ownership of a critical function within a growing defence and aerospace environment? We’re seeking a Compliance Manager to lead and strengthen our compliance framework, ensuring we meet all customer, regulatory, and contractual obligations.

    This is a key role where you’ll act as the central interface between the business, customers, and regulatory bodies.

    Why This Role Stands Out

    This is an exciting time to join the business. We are launching a brand-new facility in Wolverhampton, alongside significant investment in state-of-the-art machinery and ongoing development.

    You’ll play a key role in shaping compliance standards from the ground up in a modern, forward-thinking environment.

    The Role

    As Compliance Manager, you will ensure the organisation operates in full compliance with all relevant regulations, customer requirements, and industry standards, including AS9100 and defence frameworks.

    You’ll take ownership of export controls, customer compliance, and data handling standards—proactively identifying risks and implementing effective controls.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Review and interpret customer specifications and contractual requirements

    * Ensure the business understands and meets all compliance obligations

    * Act as the main point of contact for customers and regulatory bodies

    * Lead export control activities in line with legislation

    * Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls

    * Support customer audits and compliance activities (e.g. JOSCAR, Cyber/IT, REACH, Conflict Minerals)

    * Ensure secure handling of Official Sensitive (OS) data

    * Support BPSS and personnel vetting requirements alongside HR

    * Monitor, report, and escalate compliance risks where necessary

    * Deliver internal training on compliance and regulatory requirements

    * Drive continuous improvement across compliance systems and processes

    About You

    You’re a proactive and detail-focused compliance professional who is confident working in a regulated environment and translating complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance.

    Essential Experience

    * 5+ years in a Compliance Management role

    * Defence sector experience, including DEFCON frameworks

    * Strong knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace standards

    * Proven experience managing export controls

    * Experience developing and implementing compliance frameworks

    * Strong understanding of data handling and information security

    Desirable

    * Experience within a machining or manufacturing environment

    * Experience managing Official Sensitive (OS) data

    * Security clearance (or eligibility to obtain it)

    Key Skills

    * Leadership and ability to influence stakeholders

    * Strong communication across all levels

    * High attention to detail and quality focus

    * Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset

    * Collaborative and team-oriented

    Why Apply?

    * Salary of £40,000

    * Be part of a major site expansion and investment programme

    * Opportunity to shape compliance within a brand-new facility

    * Work with modern equipment and evolving processes

    * Engage with key customers and regulatory bodies in a high-impact industry
