    Job description

SEN Learning Support Assistant – Special School (Sheffield)

At PK Education, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, no matter their starting point. We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming special school in the Sheffield area on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis who have a range of medical needs and learning difficulties. You’ll play a key role in helping each learner feel safe, understood, and empowered to achieve their potential.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, hands-on, and fully committed to providing high-quality support. Building strong, trusting relationships and bringing a calm, nurturing presence into the classroom will be at the heart of your role.

    Your role will include:

Providing tailored one-to-one support for pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including complex and medical needs
Supporting learning through engaging, child-centred approaches
Assisting with interventions and therapy-based activities planned by the school
Encouraging participation in topic-based learning and classroom activities
Creating a consistent, supportive environment where pupils can feel confident and secure
    We’re looking for someone who:

Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Has experience supporting children with SEN on a one-to-one basis
Takes initiative and is actively involved throughout the school day
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuinely nurturing approach
Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Is professional, reliable, and committed to making a positive impact
If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to be part of a team that values care, inclusion, and positive outcomes, we would love to hear from you.
