How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established Construction Consultancy is seeking a capable Building Surveyor to join its Building Surveying team, delivering Building Surveyor services across a varied project portfolio. The Building Surveyor will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining exposure to Building Surveying projects from instruction through to completion. This Building Surveyor role is based in London with flexible hybrid working.

    The Company?

    The successful Building Surveyor will be joining a consultancy with a strong pipeline of Building Surveying work and a stable client base. The Building Surveyor will operate within a collaborative environment, supporting delivery teams across commercial and mixed-use projects, with clear progression within Building Surveying.

    The Role

    As the Building Surveyor you will work closely with senior surveyors and associates, managing projects and professional instructions through all stages.

    The role will include:

    * Acting as Contract Administrator and or Employers Agent
    * Preparation of project design information and specifications
    * Managing projects of varying size and complexity
    * Undertaking surveys and site inspections
    * Managing multi-disciplinary design teams
    * Acting as lead designer where required
    * Coordinating site visits and surveys
    * Preparation of feasibility reports

    The Building Surveyor?

    You will be a motivated Building Surveyor with a practical approach to project delivery. Applications from non-construction related backgrounds will not be considered.

    The Building Surveyor must have:

    * A degree in Building Surveying or a relevant property related discipline
    * Strong technical knowledge across core Building Surveying services
    * Experience managing projects with minimal supervision
    * Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
    * Commercial awareness and a client-focused mindset
