How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Near Braintree, Essex

    Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

    About the Role
    We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) of English to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school near Braintree from September.

    This role is ideal for a motivated individual at the beginning of their teaching career who is eager to inspire a love of language and literature in young people, while developing their teaching practice within a nurturing and collaborative environment. You will join a committed English department focused on delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5).

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons
    Inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
    Assess and monitor student progress in line with school policies
    Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
    Take part in the school's structured ECT induction programme
    Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as literacy initiatives, clubs, or tripsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve it
    A degree in English or a related subject
    A passion for English language and literature
    Strong classroom management skills and a proactive approach
