    Job description

At Abbot Fire Group, we are looking for an Operations Manager to lead our team of Engineers within a growing and commercially focused division. This role is central to ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high service standards, and driving performance across a £3–3.5M part of the business.

You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, leading and engaging a team of engineers, and ensuring service delivery meets the highest standards of quality and compliance. From day one, the priority is driving team performance, maintaining a strong safety culture, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met. As the division continues to grow, there will be opportunities to further develop the team, improve processes, and contribute to the wider commercial success of the business.

What you receive for joining us

We offer a salary of £40,000 - £45,000, a car allowance, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a company pension and a performance-related profit share scheme. You will also benefit from working within a growing division, with the opportunity to shape operations, influence performance, and play a key role in the continued success of the business.

Here is a look at some of the things you will be doing

    • Leading, coaching, and managing a team of Fire Protection Engineers to drive performance, engagement, and accountability

    • Overseeing operational delivery, ensuring efficient scheduling, high-quality workmanship, and strong compliance across all activities

    • Acting as a senior point of contact for customers, managing relationships, resolving escalations, and maintaining excellent service standards

    • Driving commercial performance by identifying growth opportunities, supporting upselling, and contributing to revenue targets

Can you show experience in some of these areas

    • Proven experience leading engineering or technical teams, ideally within fire protection or a related sector

    • Strong understanding of compliance, safety standards, and operational best practice within a field-based environment

    • Commercial awareness, with the ability to influence performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth

    • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills, with a proactive and solution-focused approach

If you feel you have the skills and drive to make an impact, even if you don’t meet every requirement above, we’d still love to hear from you.
