How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About this client: Jack is 18 and a bright, intuitive young man with an infectious sense of humour. He thrives with people who build trust and communicate clearly. Following an Acquired Brain Injury, Jack has Cerebral Palsy, learning needs, a visual impairment, and epilepsy (well-managed). He can find transitions challenging and benefits from structure, reassurance, and consistent behavioural support strategies. A key aspect of the role is confidently managing behaviours that may challenge, using established strategies such as distraction, redirection, and positive reinforcement. The ability to remain calm, think on your feet, and use humour to diffuse situations and maintain engagement is essential. You will support Jack in social and recreational activities and build a strong, consistent relationship. During night shifts, Jack generally sleeps well and may occasionally need minimal support.
Who This Job Would Suit: This role suits an experienced, confident support worker with strong behavioural management skills, emotional intelligence, and resilience. You will be confident, proactive, and able to bring consistency, positivity, and humour to your work. The ability to build rapport, encourage engagement, and support Jack to develop independence is key. A calm, resilient approach combined with a genuine sense of humour is essential.
What’s Great About This Job: You’ll join a welcoming, experienced, and supportive team that has made a real difference in Jack’s life. Excellent training and guidance in behaviour support are provided. A highly rewarding role with the opportunity to see genuine progress and achievement.
