How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant
    Location: Grays, Thurrock
    Salary: £93 – £95 per day

    The Role
    We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our team in Grays. Whether you are a graduate seeking classroom experience before starting your PGCE, or an experienced assistant looking for a new challenge, this role offers a great blend of support and responsibility. You will work closely with lead teachers to support students across the curriculum, ensuring they remain engaged and achieve their learning objectives.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Assist the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality lessons across various subjects.
    * Support students on a 1:1 or small-group basis to help them grasp key concepts.
    * Uphold the school’s high expectations for behaviour and academic engagement.
    * Help prepare classroom resources and maintain a focused learning environment.
    * Provide feedback to the teacher on student progress and any areas for improvement.
    The Ideal Candidate Will:
    * Have previous experience working with children or young people (highly desirable).
    * Possess a proactive "can-do" attitude and the ability to take initiative.
    * Be a strong communicator who can build quick rapport with students.
    * Hold an Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or be willing to apply for one.
    * Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
