How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Secondary Cover Supervisor
    Location: Grays, Thurrock
    Salary: £100 – £105 per day
    Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible)

    The Role
    We are looking for a resilient and professional Cover Supervisor to join our team in Grays. This role is perfect for graduates aiming to gain high-level classroom experience before teacher training, or experienced supervisors seeking a consistent role in a well-regarded school. You will lead the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain focused on their tasks and that the school’s high expectations for learning are maintained across Key Stages 3 and 4.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Supervise students across various subjects, maintaining a calm, purposeful, and disciplined atmosphere.

    * Deliver pre-prepared lesson content effectively, ensuring students understand and engage with their learning objectives.

    * Uphold the school’s high standards for behaviour and academic engagement.

    * Support students with their work, providing guidance and encouragement to help them stay on track.

    * Provide clear feedback to the school leadership regarding student attendance and lesson outcomes.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    * Have previous experience working with children or young people (highly desirable).

    * Possess a confident, proactive, and "can-do" attitude toward classroom management.

    * Be a strong communicator with the ability to build quick rapport with students.

    * Hold an Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or be willing to apply for one.

    * Be fully committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
