How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    EC&I Design Engineer – Process Control – £48-55k + Hybrid Working

    Samuel Frank is recruiting for an EC&I Design Engineer to join a well-established, growing engineering business operating within process-led industries. The role is predominantly office-based with very limited site work and would suit an EC&I Design Engineer who enjoys structured, collaborative working in a fast-paced environment.

    Key aspects of the EC&I Design Engineer role include -

    * EC&I Design Engineer will be responsible for electrical, control and instrumentation design across a range of process-based projects

    * EC&I Design Engineer will produce key documentation including FDS, P&IDs and contribute to FAT/SAT activities

    * Very limited site work, with most of the role focused on design and development in-house

    * Strong emphasis on collaborative working – shared standards, consistent design approaches and continuous improvement across the team

    * EC&I Design Engineer will contribute to standardisation and modular design frameworks across the product range

    * Involvement in value engineering activities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance system performance

    * Fast-paced environment with multiple projects running simultaneously

    * Process control environments such as water treatment, chemical or food & beverage, pharmaceutical, nuclear or oil & gas environments

    Requirements for the EC&I Design Engineer role -

    * Experience in EC&I design within an industrial or process environment

    * Strong understanding of hazardous area compliance – ATEX experience is essential

    * Knowledge of UL directives would be advantageous

    * Ability to produce and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs and technical documentation

    * Experience contributing to functional design specifications and system design

    * Comfortable working in a collaborative, structured engineering team
