How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Transport Modeller (Aimsun Specialist)
    UK | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits
    The Opportunity

    We are working with a leading, employee-owned international consultancy to recruit a Transport Modeller with Aimsun expertise to join their growing UK transport planning team.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to work on high-impact, multimodal transport projects, using Aimsun to support infrastructure design, development planning, and sustainable transport strategies.
    You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where your work will directly influence real-world transport outcomes and decision-making.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Developing and applying multimodal transport models (primarily using Aimsun)
    Supporting model calibration, validation, and scenario testing
    Contributing to projects across public transport, highways, infrastructure, and major developments
    Assisting with transport appraisal and reporting in line with DfT WebTAG guidance
    Working collaboratively with planners, engineers, and specialists to integrate modelling into wider strategies
    Supporting knowledge sharing and contributing to team development initiativesYou will have:

    Experience using Aimsun or similar transport modelling software
    Understanding of model development, calibration, and scenario testing
    Familiarity with GIS tools for analysis and visualisation
    Exposure to UK transport planning and appraisal frameworks (e.g. WebTAG)
    Experience supporting projects in areas such as public transport, highways, or development planning
    A relevant degree in transport planning, engineering, or a related field
    Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearlyWhat's on Offer
