We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative to join our fantastic team at our Mountsorrel Quarry, in Quorn, near Loughborough, Leicestershire covering the day shift. This key role is working 48 hours week (Apply online only) (Mon-Thu) & (Apply online only) (Fri) and overtime is also available to meet business demands.

This role is commutable from Quorn, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Shepshed, Syston, Glenfield, Ibstock, Sileby, Kegworth, Nottingham, Derby, Grantham, Matlock, Tunstead, Dene, Ashbourne, Oakham, Bardon Hill and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Quarry Supervisor the Multi Skilled Quarry Operative will work on the day-to-day operations driving mobile plant as part of the Quarry load and haul fleet.

Your responsibilities as the Multi Skilled Quarry Operative will include:

Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
Follow SHE policies and procedures
Operating Mobile plant/Fixed plant on site
Assist the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
Ensure plantconforms with safety requirements at all times
Inspections on the plant, reporting defects andassistingto implement remedial action
Ensure that plant availability is maximised
Working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an industrial, factory or similar environment as an Operative or labourer. Suitable candidates will also possess good communication skills and a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills.

To succeed in the role of a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative you should demonstrate:

Knowledge of mobile and/or fixed plant
Mobile plant licencesincluding:Rigid Dump Truck licence (Highly desirable), Wheeled loading shovel, Excavator
Experience of working in a quarry loadandhaul fleet
Goodtimekeeping
Excellentcommunication skills – bringing problems to the attention oflinemanagement
Previousexperience in mobile plant operations
Full UKdrivinglicence
IT Literate (Preferable) Previous experience working in a Plant/Quarry environment would prove highly beneficial but is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
