How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Join Northwood and take a key role in our supply chain, guiding customer orders from confirmation through to delivery.

You’ll play an active part in keeping everything moving, taking proactive steps at every stage to ensure a smooth, efficient journey from order to despatch.

    About the RoleAbout you:

You’re proficient in repetitive order processing with high attention to detail. You are a self-starter, relying on your own initiative to overcome obstacles, and you ensure accuracy of information.

You are computer literate and conversant with Microsoft Office/365, SAP/ERP (and similar systems).

    You will demonstrate:

•Clear, consistent, and respectful communication with internal and external stakeholders, and your colleagues.

•An adaptive and responsive approach to competing priorities while maintaining focus on wider objectives/priorities.

•Persevering approach to problem solving, with the curiosity to investigate the issue, collaborating with your colleagues.

•Commitment to continuous learning and development, keeping abreast of our latest product information, industry trends, digital systems, and customer demands.

    Your day to day:

You’ll play a key part in keeping our customer operations running smoothly. Every day, you’ll work across a variety of customer systems to process orders with accuracy and care, ensuring everything is set up exactly as it should be.

To keep deliveries moving, you’ll be in regular contact with hauliers and storage providers sharing the right documentation, arranging bookings, and making sure loading schedules and related documents are fully up to date. Your organisation will help ensure products reach customers on time, exactly as promised.

You’ll also keep a close eye on demand plans, working with Production Planners to spot any potential stock issues before they become a problem. Your ability to anticipate and communicate will help keep the whole process running efficiently.

As the first point of contact for customer order enquiries, you’ll handle questions with confidence and investigate any issues that arise. You’ll also work closely with the National Account Manager to support individual customer needs, especially where processes or requirements vary.
