How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Title: Post 16 Specialist Teaching Assistant (PMLD/Complex Needs)
    Location: Mansfield
Salary: £90 - £120 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)
    Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an empathetic specialist to support learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and education.

    Why Join Us?

🌟 A Holistic Approach to Care: This role goes beyond traditional teaching support. You will play a vital part in each student's complete well-being by assisting with personal care, implementing postural management programs, and following individual care plans to ensure every child feels safe, respected, and comfortable.

🏫 Build Lasting Connections: Enjoy the stability of a full-time, temporary role (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm) within a single, welcoming school. This consistency allows you to build meaningful, trusting relationships with the students you support.

📚 Invest in Your Future: We are committed to your professional growth. Successful candidates will receive complimentary access to specialized training, including courses in Makaton/PECS, Safe Moving and Handling, Intensive Interaction, and strategies for supporting students with ASD and complex medical needs.

💰 Refer & Reward: Know someone perfect for this role? Refer a friend or colleague through our scheme and receive a £75 Love2Shop voucher as our thank you.

    Who We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of experience, skill, and empathy:

Proven Specialist Experience: Essential background working with individuals who have PMLD, complex physical disabilities, or severe autism, whether in a care or educational setting. Practical knowledge of tube feeding, hoisting, or managing epilepsy is highly desirable.

Qualification & Mindset: A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning is beneficial. However, we equally value substantial hands-on experience combined with a naturally caring and empathetic approach.

Commitment to Safeguarding: A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential. If you do not have one, you must be willing to process an application immediately.

If you are driven by the belief that every child deserves an advocate and possess the specialized skills to make a profound difference, we want to hear from you.
