How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you a graduate looking for a meaningful post-graduate role? Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable children with Special Educational Needs?

A friendly and welcoming specialist school in Swindon are seeking a compassionate graduate to join their team as a Graduate SEN Mentor. This is a unique opportunity for a graduate to take on a mentoring role that blends academic support with emotional and behavioural support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This includes students with Autism, ADHD, speech and communication needs, learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

As a Graduate SEN Mentor, you will act as a positive role model for primary and secondary age pupils. Your role will involve mentoring pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping them build emotional resilience, develop self-awareness and build their social skills. You will also support them in managing behaviour, building communication skills, and access learning in a way that works for them.

The school focuses on life skills and social development, so you will help take part in creative lessons such as cooking, drama, dance, outdoor learning, community projects, work experience and sensory activities. This approach helps students to grow in confidence and independence.

This Graduate SEN Mentor role is an ideal opportunity for a graduate considering a career in Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Counselling or Social Work. You will gain direct experience supporting neurodiverse children, while working alongside multi-therapy teams and SEN professionals.

The school are seeking a Graduate with a strong academic background (ideally a 2:2 degree or above), and a passion for helping vulnerable children. Previous experience working with children and/or vulnerable adults would be beneficial.

    Position: Graduate SEN Mentor
    Location: Swindon
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Salary: £85 to £100 per day
