Buyer

Due to continued growth, Escape's established engineering client is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join their busy purchasing team.

This is a hands-on role responsible for sourcing materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, placing purchase orders and ensuring on-time delivery to support operational and build requirements.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules
Place and manage purchase orders through to delivery
Ensure materials and services are sourced cost-effectively and on time
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues
Work closely with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements
Support sourcing and tender activities where required
Maintain accurate data within the ERP system Experience and knowledge required for the role:

Proven experience in a Buyer / Purchasing role within an engineering, automotive or maritime industry
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing priorities
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
Experience using ERP or procurement systems
