How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home
    Ollerton
    £33,500 – £36,500 per year
    Full‑time | Permanent
Are you looking to work for a high‑quality care provider that genuinely invests in your training and long‑term career progression?
Would you value above‑average pay, strong benefits, and the opportunity to make a real difference within a well‑resourced residential setting?
If so, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join a children’s residential home in Ollerton. This role offers the opportunity to lead by example within a nurturing, child‑centred environment, supporting both young people and the staff team to thrive.
    Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This role combines competitive pay, clear progression, and a supportive working culture within a growing, locally based residential provider.
    Key highlights include:
    * Above‑average salary compared to industry standards
    * Fully funded Level 3, 4, or 5 training to support career progression
    * Clear pathways into senior and management roles within a child‑focused organisation with ambitious growth plans already in place
    * Well‑funded, well‑staffed homes designed to deliver consistently high‑quality care
    * A supportive environment that values professional development and staff wellbeing
    About the Organisation
The client is a trusted provider of children’s residential services, dedicated to creating safe and nurturing homes where children aged 8–18 can feel secure, supported, and encouraged to reach their potential. Their homes are professionally staffed, well resourced, and built around stability, emotional wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
Staff development is a core priority, with structured training, recognised qualifications, and transparent progression opportunities available throughout the organisation.
    About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in leading and mentoring the residential care team while ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained within the Ollerton home.
This is a low‑risk, nurturing environment with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, routine, and personal development — it is not a setting characterised by daily aggressive behaviours.
    Key Responsibilities
-Lead, mentor, and support residential care staff to deliver high‑quality, child‑centred care
-Oversee day‑to‑day operations and ensure safeguarding and care standards are upheld
-Support the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans
-Foster positive relationships and promote emotional wellbeing for children and young people
-Work collaboratively with management and external professionals to coordinate care and support
    Salary, Hours & Benefits
    * Salary: £33,500 – £36,500 per year
    * Regular working patterns to support a healthy work–life balance
    * Comprehensive training and development, with salary increases linked to qualification completion
    * Clear progression pathways into management roles
    * Supportive leadership and well‑resourced residential homes
What the Client Is Looking For
    Essential:
*QCF Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in residential childcare
    *Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience
*Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding
    *A full UK driving licence
    Desirable:
*QCF Level 5 in a relevant field
    Safeguarding & Compliance
The client is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
All successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate background and safeguarding checks.
They are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
Ready to Step Into a Leadership Role That Truly Matters?
If you’re an experienced residential childcare professional seeking progression, recognition, and the opportunity to positively shape young lives, this could be the ideal role.
Apply today and take the next step in a career where your leadership makes a lasting impact.
