How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

This role is a specialist Employee Relations position focused on managing high‑volume, complex casework across conduct, grievance, performance and sensitive employee issues. Working within a collaborative people advisory function, the role provides pragmatic, legally sound guidance while helping shape ER practices and support stakeholders across a regulated, fast‑paced environment.

    Client Details

We're supporting a growing organisation in the professional services sector seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join a supportive, close‑knit People Advisory team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident leading high‑volume, specialist ER casework and who brings strong judgement, calm influence and commercial awareness into complex situations.
You'll be joining a genuinely down‑to‑earth, supportive team with no egos and plenty of collaboration.

    Description

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you'll act as a subject‑matter specialist, leading investigations end‑to‑end and supporting managers across a range of sensitive issues including conduct, grievance, performance and capability.

You'll apply sound knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance, and internal policy, providing pragmatic, risk‑balanced advice that supports fair and consistent outcomes.

You'll also contribute to the development of policies, templates and ER processes as the function continues to evolve.

    Profile

We're looking for a true ER specialist (not a generalist) with strong, hands‑on experience managing complex casework at pace.
Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., finance, utilities, healthcare, insurance) is particularly desirable
With the confidence to coach managers and guide stakeholders.
Policy experience is a bonus, and you'll support colleagues across the organisation.

    Job Offer

Birmingham City Centre (hybrid) with some travel as and when required
A sensible approach to office presence
    Permanent role
Supportive, friendly and close‑knit ER team
High‑volume casework across the UK & Ireland
Opportunity to help shape ER processes during an exciting period of change
    Salary description

    £39000.00 - £42000.00 per year
