How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Product Engineer

    Location: Bridgwater
    Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week - Flexi-time
    Salary: Competitive + up to 4% bonus per annum

    Key Responsibilities of a Product Engineer:

    * Develop technical solutions and supporting rationale in response to application requirements.

    * Design metal and PTFE sealing solutions using established design guides or bespoke development.

    * Produce manufacturing and proposal drawings for products.

    * Project manage the technical aspects of New Product Introduction, collaborating with commercial, operational, and supply chain teams.

    * Provide technical training and support to Sales and Application Engineers.

    * Deliver presentations for technical training and product promotion.

    * Identify and guide Sales Engineers towards sales opportunities through product and case history awareness.

    * Support marketing activities such as trade shows, customer visits, and promotional materials.

    * Occasionally travel within the UK, Europe, and internationally to support team members and customer requirements.

    Key Skills of a Product Engineer:

    * Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering with strong technical fundamentals.

    * Minimum 3 years’ relevant industrial experience, ideally in sealing, Oil & Gas, Food Processing, Automotive, Aerospace, Compressors, or Semiconductor sectors.

    * Strong problem-solving abilities to align customer needs with effective solutions.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD (preferably NX), and FEA (preferably Abaqus).

    * Excellent communication skills with both internal teams and customers.

    * Highly resourceful, with strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.

    * Organised, detail-oriented, and structured in work approach.

    * Collaborative and approachable team player.

    * Able to take initiative and work flexibly in a dynamic environment
