How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic
    Location: Leicester
    Salary: Up To £34,000 Basic + Efficiency Bonus (OTE £46,000)
    Contract: Full Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday To Friday 8am - 5pm
     
    *No Weekends*

    We are currently seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our busy service team in Leicester. Whether you are currently in a main dealer, an independent garage, or a fast-fit centre, if you are looking for better earning potential and manufacturer training, we want to hear from you.

    The Role: As a key part of our workshop, you will be responsible for keeping our customers moving.
    ·Diagnostics: Using the latest diagnostic tools to identify faults.
    ·Maintenance: Performing servicing, cam belts, and general repairs to manufacturer standards.
    ·Quality: accurately documenting service work and video health checks (VHCs).
    ·Safety: ensuring all vehicles meet safety and VOSA standards.
     
    What We Need From You:
    ·Qualification: You MUST hold an NVQ Level 2 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
    ·Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanic / Technician within the automotive industry.
    ·Tools: You must possess your own comprehensive tool kit.
    ·License: A Full Manual UK Driving License is essential (maximum 6 points).
    ·Right to Work: Please note we cannot offer sponsorship; you must have the right to work in the UK.
     
    An MOT License is desirable but not essential - if you are a skilled tech, we can help you get your MOT accreditation!
