Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive estimates and costings for bespoke joinery packages and interior fit-out elements from technical drawings, architectural specifications, Bills of Quantities, and tender documents.
* Manage procurement processes using internal systems and coordinate with external suppliers to secure cost-effective, timely materials and subcontract packages.
* Provide technical specifications, support, and guidance to internal manufacturing/production teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and schedules.
* Oversee material take-offs, supplier management, order placement, and procurement to meet manufacturing and installation timelines.
* Analyse risks, value-engineer where possible, and collaborate with design, project, and commercial teams for accurate tender submissions and ongoing cost control.
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong proven experience as a Joinery Estimator (or similar estimating role) within bespoke joinery, specialist joinery, shopfitting, or high-end commercial/retail fit out projects.
* In-depth knowledge of joinery manufacturing processes, materials, and industry best practices.
* Proven track record in supplier negotiation, procurement, cost control, and delivering profitable estimates.
* Excellent ability to read, interpret, and take off from technical drawings, specifications, and architectural plans.
* Strong commercial awareness with experience pricing packages from £50k to multi-million value.
Desirable Qualifications/Skills:
* Relevant qualifications in construction estimating, joinery, or related fields (e.g., CIOB, RICS, or joinery-specific certifications).
* Experience with estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, Bluebeam, or similar).
* Knowledge of UK building regulations and standards relevant to interior fit-outs and joinery.
