How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you an experienced Group HSE Manager ready to take ownership of health, safety and environmental strategy across multiple manufacturing sites? Do you combine strong technical knowledge with pragmatic leadership and the ability to influence at Board level? If so, this could be an outstanding opportunity.

We’re supporting a well-established international manufacturing group seeking a senior HSE leader to shape and drive corporate strategy across all sites. This is a highly visible, Group-level role reporting directly to the Managing Director.

    What’s the role all about?

As Group Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you will be responsible for formulating, coordinating and monitoring all corporate HSE programmes, ensuring consistent implementation across multiple locations.

You’ll act as the strategic lead for Health, Safety and Environmental performance — embedding standards, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement across the division.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Developing and maintaining Group HSE policies and procedures

Leading and monitoring HSE performance against Board-level KPIs

Implementing and driving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards

Establishing new environmental programmes across all sites

Conducting corporate HSE audits across multiple locations

Advising Executive Management on serious incidents and regulatory matters

Ensuring statutory compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements

Leading investigations into accidents, environmental incidents and near misses

Analysing HSE data and presenting trends to senior leadership

Advising on safe systems of work, risk assessments and operational procedures

Supporting safe design and commissioning of new plant, equipment and facilities

Building and maintaining relationships with regulatory authorities

Driving HSE training, awareness and behavioural safety initiatives

This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership role where visibility, credibility and influence are essential.

    What you’ll need

To succeed as a Group HSE Manager, you’ll bring:

NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety

Environmental qualification (IEMA or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate)

Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

Extensive experience in a manufacturing HSE leadership role

Experience managing HSE performance across multiple sites

Excellent understanding of UK statutory HSE legislation

Proven ability to engage at Board and senior leadership level

    Strong analytical and reporting capability

Full UK driving licence (travel required)
    Desirable:

Engineering background or qualification (HNC or apprenticeship)

    Project management experience
    Who you are

You’re a self-driven, pragmatic and highly credible leader. You can operate strategically while remaining grounded in operational reality. You’re confident influencing senior stakeholders but equally comfortable engaging with teams on the shop floor.

    You’ll be:

    Professional and approachable

    Forward-thinking and solutions-focused

    Commercially aware

    Organised and deadline-driven

    A strong communicator and motivator

Comfortable working independently across multiple sites
    What’s in it for you?

    Senior, Group-level leadership position

Opportunity to shape corporate HSE strategy

    Influence at Board level

Multi-site exposure within an established manufacturing group

Long-term career progression at executive level
    Location & Travel

This is a multi-site Group role requiring regular travel across UK manufacturing sites and occasional out-of-hours support when required.

Ready to lead at Group level?

If you’re an experienced Group HSE Manager looking for a strategic leadership role where you can genuinely shape policy, culture and performance, we’d love to hear from you.
