How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client is one of London's leading office design and build experts, delivering high-performing, sustainable, and people-centred workplaces across the capital. Their end‑to‑end services include workplace strategy, interior design, build, and ongoing office maintenance, all delivered by in‑house specialists under one roof.

For over 30 years, our client has been transforming offices into inspiring, functional, and distinctive workspaces, partnering with organisations across many industries to create environments that improve employee experience and business performance. As workplace thinkers and makers, they pride themselves on their creative, collaborative approach and strong commitment to sustainability.

With a reputation for exceptional design and award‑winning project delivery, our client continues to shape the future of London's workplaces, supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

    Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, commercially driven Furniture Director to lead and grow the furniture consultancy offering within the company's ecosystem. This newly shaped role will champion furniture strategy within client projects, elevate furniture proposition in the market, and drive revenue growth across London and the South.

The successful candidate will combine deep industry expertise with strong leadership, playing a pivotal role in shaping how furniture enhances workplace experience, brand identity, and project outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership & Sales

Develop and implement a furniture sales and growth strategy aligned with the company's workplace design and build model.
Drive revenue growth and profitability by positioning the company as the go‑to workplace furniture partner in London's competitive market.
Leverage the company's integrated project delivery model to embed furniture strategies from concept through completion.

    Team Development

Lead, mentor, and grow the furniture team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence consistent with the company's values and people‑focused culture.
Set clear performance expectations and support the team in achieving revenue, margin, and project delivery targets.

    Client & Partner Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with clients, landlords, project managers, designers, and procurement partners.
Act as a trusted advisor, translating workplace strategy into furniture solutions that enhance employee experience and reflect client brand identity.
Represent the furniture offering at industry events, client pitches and presentations.

    Market Insight & Innovation

Stay ahead of trends in workplace furniture, sustainable materials, ergonomics, and user experience.
Champion sustainability in furniture selection and procurement, in line with the company's ESG commitments and partnerships.

    Operational & Commercial Management

Oversee pricing, supplier negotiations, and contract agreements to ensure competitive and profitable operations.
Ensure all furniture solutions meet the company's standards for quality, design integrity, and client satisfaction.
Collaborate closely with internal team's workplace strategy, design, build, and aftercare to ensure seamless project delivery.

    Requirements

Proven experience in furniture sales, workplace furniture consultancy, or a senior commercial furniture role.
Strong leadership skills with experience growing and developing teams.
Advanced understanding of the commercial workplace sector and furniture market.
Ability to build relationships with clients, designers, and supply chain partners.
A passion for workplace design, furniture, sustainability, and employee experience.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, pricing, and supplier relationships.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office, and furniture specification tools.
Willingness to attend site visits, supplier meetings, and industry events.
