How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Lift Engineer (2 Positions Available)

    Salary: £43,000 per year (negotiable based on experience)

    Monday to Friday (no weekends or on-call required)

    Locations:

    Field-based: Exeter, Devon, Plymouth, Torquay and surrounding areas

    Contract: 40 hours (door-to-door 7:30-16:30), overtime at 1.5x

    This role involves autonomous inspection, servicing, repair, and auditing of lifting equipment across customer sites. Suited to professionals delivering high-quality, compliant engineering services.

    Key Responsibilities

    Conduct insurance inspections and issue detailed reports.

    Perform condition surveys assessing service standards, UK health & safety compliance (LOLER/PUWER), Equality Act accessibility, and equipment lifecycle analysis.

    Provide refurbishment/replacement recommendations including modular solutions.

    Execute equipment and maintenance audits against quality benchmarks.

    Diagnose faults, complete repairs/servicing, and certify tests accurately.

    Travel independently to sites and maintain product/standards knowledge.

    Deliver professional customer service.

    Essential Requirements

    NVQ Level 3 Lift Engineering (or equivalent).

    3+ years lift inspections, servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.

    Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation (LOLER, PUWER, etc.).

    Excellent written/spoken English for documentation and client liaison.

    Full UK driving licence.

    Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments.

    Desirable

    Technical audits/condition surveys experience.

    Technical compliance report preparation.

    Additional Notes

    Employment subject to right-to-work, references, driving licence, and medical checks. 3 years lift engineering experience preferred. UK work authorisation required
