About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, proactive Maintenance Operative to support the smooth running of our student accommodation site. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for all residents. This hands-on position is ideal for someone with strong practical skills, a problem‑solving mindset, and a commitment to excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Caretaking Duties
Lock and unlock the building in accordance with site security procedures.
Monitor and maintain the security of the property throughout the day.
General Maintenance
Carry out basic repairs, including changing lightbulbs and addressing minor leaks.
Conduct routine checks and perform general upkeep tasks as required.
Damage Repairs
Respond promptly to reports of damage and complete minor repair work efficiently.
Escalate larger maintenance issues to the appropriate team when necessary.
Health & Safety
Ensure all communal areas are clean, safe, and hazard-free.
Report any health and safety concerns in line with company procedures.
Customer Service
Provide friendly, supportive, and professional assistance to residents.
Communicate maintenance updates clearly and courteously.
Requirements
Previous experience in a maintenance, caretaking, or similar role (desirable).
Basic understanding of plumbing, electrics, and general repair tasks.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
