About the Role
Staff 2000 Recruitment is seeking experienced and reliable Agency Chefs to work on an ad-hoc basis within nursing homes across Bournemouth and Southampton.
This is a flexible opportunity ideal for chefs who are looking to pick up shifts around their availability while making a real difference in care settings.
You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals tailored to residents, including those with specific dietary and medical needs.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals in line with residents’ dietary requirements (including soft diets, allergies, and cultural needs)
*
Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard and served on time
*
Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
*
Follow all food hygiene, health & safety, and infection control procedures
*
Manage stock, rotation, and kitchen organisation
*
Work independently and adapt quickly to different kitchen environments
*
Communicate effectively with care staff regarding residents’ needs
Requirements
*
Proven experience working as a Chef within a nursing home or care home setting
*
Valid Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one)
*
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum)
*
Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
*
Good understanding of dietary requirements in care settings
*
Two professional references required
