How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Today they operate from a purpose built, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, where they routinely design and develop system solutions for bespoke applications.
    They are growing their team and are looking for a proven ‘Business Development Manager – with a technical engineering / technical sales background’ to help drive the company’s global presence.

    Business Development Manager Salary and Benefits
    * Salary £45,000 - £55,000
    * Performance related bonus

    * Hybrid working – typically three days in the office per week

    Business Development Manager Essential Candidate Experience
    * Mechanical Rotating Systems is essential (ideally within an aerospace environment, but client can be flexible).
    * Business to Business, Technical Sales / Engineering-led background.
    * The ability to understand and discuss complex technical engineering solutions is essential.
    * Commercially astute, with solid negotiation skills.
    * Flexible with some travel – this will mainly be across the UK, with the odd European or International trip.
    * Desirable but highly advantageous: experience in Turbomachinery, Aerospace, Defence, Power Generation, Automotive Testing, Couplings, Driveline Systems or Dynamometers.
    Business Development Manager Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
    * The Business Development Manager will drive new business, effectively manage and grow key customer accounts, building strong relationships with engineering and management teams.
    * Collaborate with internal engineering/project teams to define requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions.
    * Prepare and manage commercial offers, tenders, and technical proposals.
    * Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
    * Provide market insights to guide product development, strategy, and identify new opportunities.
