How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Behaviour Mentor
    Location: Basingstoke
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: £85 - £105 per day
    Contract: Full-time, Temporary

    Academics are currently recruiting for a proactive and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive primary school in Basingstoke. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children's behavioural development and emotional wellbeing within a nurturing educational setting.

    In this role, the Behaviour Mentor will work closely with pupils who require additional support to manage behaviour and build positive learning habits. You will collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure pupils feel supported, engaged, and confident in the classroom.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils needing behavioural guidance
    Encourage the development of emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies
    Support pupils during lessons to maintain focus and active participation
    Promote positive social interactions and healthy peer relationships
    Track progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff and support teamsThe successful Behaviour Mentor will:

    Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a primary school setting
    Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills with a calm and consistent approach
    Be patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs
    Possess a positive, approachable, and encouraging manner
